Baeksang Arts Awards yang ke-56 kembali diadakan tahun 2020 ini. Bertempatkan di KINTEX, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, acara penghargaan tersebut tahun ini tidak mengundang para penonton ke dalam venue untuk mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Tahun ini, Baeksang Arts Awards kembali dibawakan oleh Shin Dong-yup, Bae Suzy dan Park Bo-gum, ini merupakan tahun ketiga bagi mereka untuk membawakan acara tersebut.
Tahun ini, Parasite menerima nominasi terbanyak dengan total 12 nominasi, sedangkan When the Camelia Bloom mendapatkan nominasi terbanyak di bidang pertelevisian mengalahkan Crash Landing on You dan Itaewon Class.
